Become a VolunteerTraining for volunteers is mandatory. In 2009 Heartland Horse Heroes will become attain Premier Accreditation with NARHA. Part of the accreditation standards requires all volunteers to complete the NARHA online volunteer training course which is free. To complete the free online training: Email Shawna Bostic at NARHA sbostic@narha.org and in the email state your first and last name and that you would like to take the volunteer online training course to become a volunteer at Heartland Horse Heroes, member center #76197. You will receive an email with a confirmation number and information for logging on to take the course. The course may take a few hours but the whole process starting with your initial contact with Shawna to receiving a printable certificate should take approximately 3-5 business days. Once the online training course is completed bring your certificate to the on site training at the farm if you would like to help with lessons. This training is March 1, 2009 from 1p-4p. Current Needs: donations of money, construction materials, and labor to finish the riding area renovation, build a run-in shed and other measures needed to meet certification standards.Phase I - treated lumber for mounting ramp ($1,000), insurance ($1,000), vaulting circingle ($250), stirrup buddies ($50), hay ($450), feed ($200) Phase II - saddles, safety stirrups, adaptive equipment, riding boots, riding apparel, horse trailers, truck, scholarship funds, pasture shelters, hay barn, operating funds, equines, riding arena with footing. Phase III - 100+ acre property with facilities of 20 stall stable, fenced pastures, riding/horse driving trails, covered arena, outdoor arenas, building with tackroom, bathroom, office & classroom, tractor and farm equipment, funding, equines. The Horspitality crew is the group of volunteers who loves to be with the horses and take care of them and their barn, pasture, tack and more. Volunteers are serious horse lovers who range in age from 9 on up. Check our Horsepitality page.
